A bad start to the day

Gerard tried to ignore the man hovering behind who clearly wanted to jump the queue.  The lady in front moved off and the man made his move.

‘Whoa!  You’re not more important than me.’

‘I just want to check-out, bigshot.’

‘What do you think I’m doing? You didn’t even ask.’

He didn’t see the headbutt coming, just felt his nose explode and crimson into pain.

Didn’t hear the man mutter ‘wanker’ or see him toss his room card at the receptionist.

A woman asked: ‘Are you okay, Sir?’

‘I’m going to be late,’ was all he could think to say.

A drabble is a story of exactly 100 words.

No, that is not a good start to a day. But it is a well-done Drabble. Thanks, Rob
