Lazy Sunday Service

The preliminary results of the 2016 Census were released on Thursday, so I spent a chunk of Thursday and Friday trying to make sense of them, focusing on housing vacancy.  Despite the growth in population by 169,724, rising homelessness in cities, and pressure to start building large amounts of housing in Dublin, there are still 198,358 vacant, habitable units (excluding holiday homes) (9.8% of all stock), with an oversupply nationwide of c.77,000.
